Document templates
Template-guided extraction, the accounting template library, and customizing fields.
When you create a parser you choose a pre-built accounting document type. Extraction is guided by that template’s field schema so every document returns the same field keys, ready for column mapping and delivery.
The template is a starting point you can keep editing later in parser settings.
Template library
Parsedit ships finance and accounting templates, including:
- AP / AR: invoices, bills, expenses, sales invoices, sales receipts, receipts, purchase orders, credit notes, remittance advice, payment processor payouts.
- Banking & cash: bank statements, credit card statements, checks, journal entries.
- Payroll & US tax: payslips, W-2, W-9, W-8BEN, W-8BEN-E, 1099-NEC, 1099-K.
- Financial statements: balance sheet, income statement (P&L), cash flow statement, statement of changes in equity, trial balance.
- EU e-invoicing: EN 16931 core invoice, ZUGFeRD, XRechnung, FatturaPA, Facturae, EU VAT invoice.
- Trade / import–export: delivery notes, bills of lading, packing lists, commercial invoices, freight invoices.
- Utilities: utility bills.
If your layout differs from the stock template, customize fields in parser settings (rename, add, or remove) so extraction matches your documents.
Customizing fields
Templates are starting points, not constraints. In the parser settings you can:
- Rename fields to match your spreadsheet columns or accounting categories.
- Add fields the template does not cover.
- Remove fields you do not need.
- Adjust field types, for example dates and numbers, so values are normalized consistently.
Changes apply to future uploads. Existing documents keep the fields they were extracted with, and you can edit any value during review.
